February 07, 2023 – The Apayao State College Students Affairs and Services- Conner welcomed new students, kicking off a half-day of orientation at the Old Admin building. The aforementioned event was designed for the 11 transferee students from different state Colleges and Universities across Luzon that resolute to continue their degree in ASC.
Together with some of the faculty and staff of the College, Madelyne T. Maslang, Director of Students Affairs and Services spearheaded the initiative of formally welcoming the new students of Apayao State College as they included introductions to the school’s departments and faculty, academic sessions on topics such as mundane (visitor procedures) or critical (emergency response) rules of the College, healthcare, extracurricular and co-curricular activities, and the College new Vision, Mission, and Goals.
A generation ago, College Orientation was just a perfunctory affair, lasting a little more than just introductions. The focus then was on registering for classes. Now more than ever, Apayao State College is putting emphasis on this ritual, hoping that these welcoming activities will boost students’ confidence to face the challenges of college, overcome difficulties during the school year, and keep an eye towards success.
