To establish the production of honeybees in the province of Apayao, the Agriculture Department of Apayao State College received five colonies of bees from the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – National Apiculture Research and Training Development Institute (DMMMSU-NARTDI) during a turnover ceremony witnessed by ASC President John Cabansag, campus officials, and employees which took place yesterday at the RDE Conference Hall in Luna Campus.

In the afternoon, Dr. Geronimo L. Digma, led a formal call, together with the faculty members of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture headed by Dr. Rowena E. GasmeƱa and the NARTDI Team of DMMSU to initially design the management plan for the production of honeybees.

The engagement solidifies the Memorandum of Agreement that was forged between the two institutions on December 12, 2023, at DMMSU Bacnotan, La Union for the establishment of the Apayao Satellite Apiculture Center.

ASC would like to thank DMMMSU President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., NARTDI Executive Director Joseph A. Panas, and the DMMMSU-NARDTI team, namely Mac Donald Acosta, Mark Anthony Santiago, Francis Ian Fontanilla, Ludilyn Dingle, and Rafael Benabese.
