The 1406th (Apayao) Community Defense Center (CDC) ROTC Unit of Apayao State College – Conner Campus held its Turnover of Command and Donning of Ranks Ceremony for the ASC ROTC Cadet Officers on September 7 at the EKB Multipurpose Building, Main Campus Extension (Cubet).
The event was graced by Major Von Ryan T. Gomez, CDC Director and ASC ROTC Training Director; Major Rogelio Agustin, Jr. of the 98th Infantry Battalion, PA, and ASC ROTC Conner Campus Commandant; TSG Rommel D. Lopez (INF) PA; and Major Madelyne T. Maslang (Res) PA, Director for Student Affairs and Services, and Acting Executive Officer of the 1406th CDC-RRIBn Apayao. Major Maslang represented ASC President LTC John N. Cabansag (Res) PA as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker.
Also in attendance were Charlie D. Hidalgo, ROTC Coordinator and BS Criminology Program Chair; Ms. Maria Leah Abigail A. Galang, representing the office of Senator Allan Cayetano; and LGU-Conner SB member Hon. Jason Loyon.
Cdt LTC Bernie Mhar Padilla, outgoing Corps Commander of the ROTC Unit, was succeeded by LTC Dennier Ubina.
Following a boodle fight lunch, SB member Loyon delivered a lecture on health consciousness. The day concluded with a social event packed with fun and exciting prizes.
