The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit of Apayao State College – Conner Campus successfully concluded its Basic and Advanced ROTC Training Program, along with the Cadet Officer Candidate (COC) Course for Academic Year 2024–2025, during a closing ceremony held on May 15 at the EKB Multi-Purpose Building, ASC Main Extension Campus in Cubet.

A total of 122 cadets completed their respective training: 75 from the Basic ROTC, 42 from the Advanced ROTC, and five (5) cadets from the 1st Class Cadet Officer Candidate Course. These completers underwent foundational leadership and military skills training designed to prepare them for potential service in the armed forces.

NSTP-ROTC Coordinator Mr. Charlie D. Hidalgo delivered the welcome remarks, setting the tone for the momentous event. Major Madelyn T. Maslang, PA (RES), Battalion Executive Officer of the 1406th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, led the formal acceptance of cadets and administered the oath-taking ceremony.

Colonel Randy L. Pagunuran, INF (GSC) PA, Commandant of ASC ROTCU, delivered the inspirational message on behalf of Colonel Arnel B. Cabugon, INF (GSC) PA, emphasizing the importance of patriotism, discipline, and leadership in nation-building. This was followed by the formal declaration of graduates and the awarding of certificates.

Representing the Guest of Honor and Speaker, Lieutenant Colonel Melchor L. Balasi, INF (GSC) PA, was Major Rogelio Agustin, Jr., Executive Officer of the 98th Infantry Battalion.

The event was also graced by Lieutenant Colonel Romel M. Tambio from the AFP Recruitment Service – Luzon Unit, adding significance to the graduation rites.

The ceremony marked not only the culmination of months of rigorous training but also a milestone in the cadets’ journey toward leadership and service.
