The Apayao State College is now under its new administration under Dr. John N. Cabansag.  Upon assuming as College President, one of his priorities is to craft the Strategic Development Plan to set the direction of the College in the next four (4) years.

The Planning Office spearheaded the Strategic Development Planning slated October 3-7, 2022, at the Palm Grove Hot Spring and Mountain Resort in Asin, Tuba, Benguet.  Heads of all Units from the College’s three (3) core sectors—Higher Education Sector, Research & Development and Extension, and General Administrative Support and Services— including the ASC Faculty Trustee, Alumni, and Student Trustee, participated in the event.

Dr. Cabansag, in his message, focused on the components of his Ten (10) Point Action Agenda and how the latter takes the college to reach new frontiers.

“With team effort and hard work, we will strengthen the ASC brand as an internationally recognized HEI, producer of industry-relevant graduates and socially responsive innovations, and creating a resilient and ethical workforce guided by the core values of excellence, innovation, service, culture-sensitivity, and environmentalism,” he said.

Dr. Nancy A. Bantog, Regional Director of DOST-CAR; Dr. Susan A. Sumbeling, Regional Director of NEDA-CAR; Dr. Camron P. Odsey, Regional Director of the Department of Agriculture-CAR; and Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr., CHED-CAR Regional Director were also present during the Strat Plan and shared the Priority Agenda of their respective agencies.

The participants used the SWOT analysis findings in the initial planning series for each sector during the workshop to identify the internal and external elements that influence the growth and performance of the College. In addition, the SWOT analysis results were used as the foundation for developing strategic goals.

Seven (7) Strategic Areas were crafted as part of the plan’s output and are anchored on national, regional, and institutional Priority Agendas, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2040: Access and Equity; Quality and Excellence in Instruction; Research Toward Innovative Solutions; Community-based Responsiveness and Linkages for Technology and Knowledge Sharing; Institutional Quality Assurance, Governance, and Management of Resources; and Partners. Moreover, the plan covered performance metrics that will be utilized to track the College’s progress, development, and strategies with accompanying actions. In keeping with the College’s dedication to its mission and goal, the plan guides institutional decisions, ensures that operations adhere to the College VMGO, comply with mandates and regulations of government accrediting bodies, and offers high-caliber services that guarantee the highest degree of client satisfaction.
