On April 19, 2023, a number of distinguished officials of the Isabela State University- City of Ilagan Campus, headed by Dr. Alfonso R. Simon, Cluster Executive Officer, visited the newly opened Natural Textile Fiber Innovation Hub (NTFIH) of the Apayao State College in Payanan, San Gregorio, Luna, Apayao.
On the said visit, ISU also took a tour in several plantations of banana and pineapple in Apayao. The ASC NTFIH along with the ISU-Cauayan Bamboo Textile Fiber Innovation Hub, will be the sources of raw materials for the Regional Yarn Production and Innovation Center (RYPIC) at ISU-Ilagan.
The three-day visit of ISU to ASC NTFIH was also attended by Dr. Freddie O. Orperia, RYPIC Focal Person, Dr, Lalaine M. Nerona, Director for Research Development (ISU), and Dr. Helen Asio, Director for Extension Training Services (ISU).
It is also an honor for the ASC officials who get into the act, headed by the College President, Dr. John N. Cabansag, the RDE Units, VPARDES, Dr. Ronald O. Ocampo, Dr. Ma. Cristina Z. Manicad, Dr. Mirasol L. Agpuldo as well as to Ms. Marivic Aguirre of the Agguimangan Eco-Tourism Farm as they gave an exceptional warm welcome to ISU Officials.
This endeavor between ISU and ASC was a resounding success because it is how innovation takes place for the betterment of both colleges as well as the community in dealing such those NTFIH of ASC and BTFIH of ISU.
