The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-CAR Field Office and Apayao State College formally sealed their commitment through a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held at the RDE Conference Hall, RDE Building in ASC- Luna Campus on November 5.

Aimed at strengthening each other’s role as partners in regional development, DSWD has been conducting a series of partnership activities with ASC in its effort to maximize existing programs and services of the government such as the Sustainable Livelihood Program.

ASC President Dr. John N. Cabansag stressed that the collaboration extends beyond formal agreement.

“This partnership will pave the way for innovative programs that address social issues when equipping our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute positively to their communities,” he said.

Dr. Ronald O. Ocampo, Vice President for Academics, Research, and Extension Services, also underscored the essence of tackling pressing social issues such as poverty, hunger, and inequality with enhanced efficiency and strategic impact.

“By joining forces, we aim to optimize our resources, enhance our service delivery, and ultimately improve the quality of life for our fellow yApayaos,” he expressed.

“Come up with programs that are more responsive to the needs of the communities”, Engr. Enrique H. Gascon, DSWD–CAR Assistant Regional Director for Operations said in his response.

In addition to the MOA between DSWD represented by Engr. Gascon, and ASC, represented by Dr. Cabansag, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for DSWD & Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) and the Specific Implementation Agreement for DSWD & the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) -Apayao District Jail were also sealed, witnessed by other participants and key officials of the College to include Dr. Mirasol L. Agpuldo, the Extension Director of ASC, and Campus Academic Dean Dr. Rema B. Ocampo.
