Today, a proud and momentous occasion unfolded as the Department of Military Science and Tactics-Apayao State College Reserve Officer Training Corps (ASC-ROTC) Unit held its Closing Ceremony for the School Year 2023-2024 and the Ceremonial Turnover of new enlisted reservists to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The event recognized more than 50 cadets for their dedication, hard work, and achievements in the ROTC program.
In a ceremony graced by distinguished guests, six graduates of the Graduate Military Assistance program and 33 graduates of the basic ROTC program were honored for their completion of rigorous training and commitment to service. Additionally, 20 cadets were celebrated as they moved up to first class status, marking a significant milestone in their ROTC journey.
The event was highlighted by the presence of LTC Hoyt Joy S. Lacuesta, MNSA, PA (Res), Battalion Commander of the 1406th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn), Regional Community Defense Group, Philippine Army. As the Guest of Honor and Speaker, LTC Lacuesta delivered an inspiring address, commending the graduates and cadets for their dedication and encouraging them to continue their path of service and excellence.
In his message, ASC President John N. Cabansag joined TSG Rommel D. Lopez (INF) PA, Sr. Tactical NCO, ASC-ROTC Unit, and MAJ Von Ryan T. Gomez (INF) PA, Commandant, ASC-ROTC Unit, in honoring the cadets, expressing pride in their accomplishments and underscoring the importance of the ROTC program in fostering leadership, discipline, and patriotism among the youth.
