As part of an effort to advance agricultural and environmental research, Apayao State College (ASC) inaugurated its new Soil Laboratory and received a Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM)-donated vehicle on March 31 at EKB Auditorium, ASC-Luna Campus.

Dr. Rowena GasmeƱa, Program Chairperson of BSA, led the event, which was attended by ASC officials, faculty, staff, students, and BSWM team and delegation.

BSWM Director Dr. Gina P. Nilo expressed confidence in ASCā€™s ability to maximize the resources provided, emphasizing their potential for growth and expansion. ā€œYou make use of every resource that is given to you,ā€ she said.

ASC President Dr. John N. Cabansag highlighted the developments as a milestone in the Collegeā€™s commitment to sustainable agriculture and academic excellence.

He extended his gratitude to BSWM for the donation of the Innova vehicle, which he said would significantly enhance the institutionā€™s operational capabilities.

ā€œWe look forward to continuing collaboration with BSWM as we work together toward sustainable land management and climate-resilient agricultural practices,ā€ he stated.

Following the ceremonial turnover of a BSWM-donated vehicle, the event concluded with a tour of the newly inaugurated Soil Laboratory in Payanan, which will serve as a facility for soil analysis and agricultural research.

To enhance collaboration, ASC and BSWM formalized their partnership by signing key documents.
