Apayao State College successfully conducted its Institutional Pre-Board Meeting today, June 3, following the Special Administrative Meeting held earlier in the day. The session, facilitated by the Office of the College and Board Secretary, focused on endorsing key academic, financial and administrative matters in preparation for the regular Pre-Board Committee Meeting scheduled on June 10–11 in Baguio City.

During the meeting, the Academic Council endorsed the following for Board approval: list of the 851 candidates for graduation and list of academic awards for AY 2024–2025; proposed academic calendar for AY 2025–2026; proposed amendments in the comprehensive examination fees of the graduate education program; proposed revisions in the student handbook; proposed revised curriculum of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, major in Crop Science and animal science.

The Administrative Council likewise endorsed for the Board’s approval the following Finance and Administrative matters: proposed abolition of five (5) faculty plantilla positions to create 7 Instructor I positions; and proposed modification of allotment from the 2025 budget.

In addition, the Council also seeks approval by the Board for the proposed utilization of income derived from special projects to fund two research projects, titled “Development of Silvicultural Protocol of Selected Ethnomedicinal and Native Fruit Trees of Apayao Province” and “Forest Tree Pest & Diseases in National Greening Program Site in Apayao”.

Present during the meeting were Dr. John N. Cabansag, College President; Dr. Nobleza C. Sadao, College & Board Secretary; Dr. Ronald O. Ocampo, VP for ARDES; Jemmarie S. Kotoken, VP for AFS; Dr. Juana S. Angagan and Mr. Richard D. Pascua, Private Sector Representatives; Dr. Jaybee B. Omaweng, President of the Federated Faculty Association (via online); and Mr. Mark Angelo Marcos, President of the Federated Student Council.
