With the theme “Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika: Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa,” students and employees of ASC-Luna Campus came together on August 19 to celebrate Buwan ng Wika at the EKB Gymnasium in San Isidro Sur, Luna, Apayao.

In her message, Assoc. Prof. Evelyn P. Alvarez, Director of Student Affairs and Services (SAS), reminded attendees that “our languages—whether Filipino or indigenous—are living testaments of our history and serve as a bridge of unity from Luzon to Visayas and Mindanao.”

The culminating activities showcased the richness of Filipino culture and artistry through competitions in solo and duet singing (isahang tinig, dalawahang tinig), kundiman performances, charcoal and pencil drawing, poster-making, slogan (islogan), and traditional dances (katutubong sayaw). A highlight of the celebration was the much-anticipated Lakan & Lakambini 2025 pageant.

Instructor Reclien Tagsay, Adviser of the Filipino Association, emphasized that the celebration served not only to recognize the importance of the national language but also to promote unity, progress, and the strengthening of Filipino identity.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ronald O. Ocampo, VP for Academics, Research Development, and Extension Services, noted that the enrichment of the national language should be seen not only as a reflection on the past but also as a step toward building a stronger future.
