Officers and representatives of the Apayao State College Student Health Emergency Response Team (ASC-SHERT) and ASC-Red Cross Youth Council (RCYC) Luna Campus Chapter formally took their oath and received certificates during their oath-taking ceremony on March 4, 2024, held at the conference hall of RDE Building in ASC-Luna Campus.

Dr. Rema B. Ocampo, the Campus Academic Dean of Luna Campus gave her opening remarks and swore in the said officers and representatives marking the official beginning of their commitment as student volunteers.

SHERT and RCYC, composed of volunteer students representing different programs in ASC, aim to help the Health Services Unit in responding to health-related emergencies that cater to students, faculty, and staff following the four phases of emergency management, namely mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. They had been spotlighted for their efforts in undergoing a series of immersion training on health emergencies.

Meanwhile, after receiving their certificates, Lei-Anne Pascual, the President of SHERT, underpinned the value of commitment, sensing purposeful volunteerism toward the shared initiative.

Likewise, Eunice Molina-Aloag, the school nurse, served as the master of ceremonies. Emerson Peralta, president of the Guided and United Reputable Future Teachers Organization, led the opening prayer. In contrast, Jomari Feliciano, president of the ASC-RCYC, led the closing prayer.
