Apayao State College joins the 4th quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at 9:00 this morning at the sound of the siren as part of the country’s continuing effort to build community preparedness for earthquake emergencies.

The Student Affairs and Services urged students and employees to be always prepared and take the Duck-Cover-Hold technique seriously as these could save lives in the event that another earthquake hits the Province.

The SAS-Health Unit (nurses Hazel Faith Cortel and Yolanda Dalingay), Basic Life Support (BLS) student trainees, student Mighty Responders, and ASC-DRRMC trainers Elias Edan, Jr, Constancio Maslang, Jr., and Kenneth Amangao were at the forefront of the earthquake preparedness activity.

The NSED was initially conceptualized during the Arroyo Administration to instill and heighten public awareness of the importance of preparedness against earthquake hazards.
