The 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration served as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. This celebration was also a venue to discuss and address the issues that women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. The campaign was also a call for concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality.
As the College celebrated this activity, the school launched a kick-off program on March 7, 2022 to formally open the program and announce the activities, mechanics, rules and regulations of the contested event attended by employees and students.
During the program, participants were informed about the PCW Online forum series and webinars via a live streaming Facebook page. Also, Seminar on RA 9710, otherwise known as the Magna Carta of Women, was held and attended by the employees to strengthen gender awareness and inform them about the legal matters on women’s and children’s rights. The Gender and Development (GAD) Office administered different contests for employees and students, such as the Essay Writing Contest in English and Filipino categories; and Graphic Design for students. Likewise, a quiz contest was participated by some employees and the winners were given NWMC Information Education Materials such a t-shirt, mug, load card, facemask, and bottle spray to all employees.
