Teaching and non-teaching personnel of the Apayao State College (ASC) participated in a two-day reorientation and monitoring session on the implementation of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Scholarship Programs, held at the Conference Hall, ASC-Luna Campus on June 17–18.
The activity commenced with a meeting between CHED–Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED–CAR) officials and faculty members currently availing of scholarship grants. Representing the Local Graduate Scholarship Office (LGSO) were Project Technical Staff Lynette S. Cholin and Education Supervisor Fely Ann P. Balusdan, the LGSO’s Permanent Alternate Focal Person (PAFP).
They provided a detailed orientation on the Scholarship for Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP), covering eligibility requirements for both full-time and part-time studies, ineligibility conditions, and application procedures.
In a separate session, Dr. Philip Constantine L. Mandac, ASC Registrar and Director of International Affairs and Linkages, discussed the Higher Education Upskilling and Study for the Advancement of Staff and Faculty (HUSAY) program, highlighting its opportunities for professional growth.
ASC President Dr. John N. Cabansag honored the event, expressing appreciation to CHED-CAR officials for their commitment and extending special thanks to Atty. Septon A. De La Cruz, Regional Director of CHED-CAR, for his unwavering support and dedication to empower the personnel of the College.
In her message, Campus Academic Dean Dr. Rema Bascos Ocampo encouraged the participants to remain committed to excellence. “I hope that everything we are doing right now will serve as an inspiration to sustain our momentum for excellence and service,” she remarked.
The activity was organized by the Human Resources and Management Office (HRMO), led by HRMO Herminia L. Danao, who emphasized the critical role of scholarship programs in enhancing faculty and staff career trajectories.
