In a creative celebration of advocacy and artistry, Apayao State College students demonstrated their digital design prowess in the recently held Digital Gender and Development (GAD) Logo Making Contest, aimed at promoting gender equality and inclusivity across the campus.

Emerging at the top of the competition was Kenji M. Usita, a first-year Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student. Usita impressed the judges with a compelling and meaningful design that earned him the ₱2,500 cash prize and the honor of having his logo adopted as the official emblem of ASC’s Gender and Development initiatives.

Claiming second place and receiving ₱1,500 was Fredie C. Tagui, a third-year student from the Bachelor of Secondary Education program. Jamaica Ruselle J. Hurtado, a third-year Bachelor of Elementary Education student, secured third place, taking home ₱1,000.

All participants were recognized for their efforts and creativity with certificates of recognition and a GAD-themed item.

The entries were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, which included Dr. Philip Constantine L. Mandac, Asso. Prof. Sonia A. Belarde, Asso. Prof. Jonathan Bien C. Domingo, Dr. Hannie T. Martin, and Chief Administrative Officer Brendalyn U. Fernando.

The contest highlighted how digital creativity can serve as a powerful platform for advocacy, encouraging students to actively contribute to the advancement of gender-sensitive values and inclusive practices within the academic community.
