The Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) department held its departmental orientation on September 6, 2024, at the EKB Sr. Auditorium, RDE Building.
Assistant Professor Marfred T. Sanchez, Program Chair of BPEd, outlined the department’s goals and plans for the academic year, including a test-taking skills workshop for 2nd and 3rd-year students, a weekly Zumba exercise starting in October, and the creation of a workplace exercise video tutorial.
In her remarks, Dr. Rema Bascos-Ocampo, Campus Academic Dean, emphasized the importance of student leadership in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
“You are being trained to become leaders in fostering a healthy lifestyle, both in schools and the larger community,” Dr. Ocampo stated.
Instructor Judel B. Tabason encouraged students to contribute to a positive learning space. “Each of you has something special that you will be contributing in the department hence making the environment conducive for everyone to work in,” he said.
The event also featured Instructor Diether John S. Ballinan, who presented ASC’s vision and mission, and Instructor Crismel A. Garcia, who introduced the faculty members. Jandy Rex A. Medrano discussed the bylaws of the Sports Oriented Youth Organization (SOYO), followed by Instructor Vincent F. Navarro, who facilitated the election of new SOYO members.
The orientation concluded with closing remarks from Instructor Jaylord Q. Guillermo, Sports Coordinator.
