To safeguard against mistreatment and an array of threats, a “Symposium on Violent Extremism and an Overview of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in the Philippines” was conducted at EKB Auditorium on May 15-16 led by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) —Cordillera Administrative Region, Luna District Jail.
First-year and second-year students across ASC Luna Campus programs absorbed the resource speakers’ discussion.
Ms. Ivy L. Morareng, Jail Officer 1, talked about the “Overview of the National Plan PCVE Radicalization Leading to Violent Extremism Contributing Factors to Violent Extremism and Vulnerable Groups” while Ms. Neljane P. Sao, Jail Officer 2, discussed the “Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.”
Meanwhile, on May 16, Inspector Jay T. Ingles addressed the same subject as Ms Morareng, while Jail Inspector Zarina M. Sangway delivered the Overview of BJMP.
In her remarks, Alien P. Constantino, Jail Officer 2, stressed on the significance of guiding the youth from organizations who are taking advantage. “Let us help the youth in their journey towards becoming a true hope for the community.”
