Conner, Apayao. The Apayao State College has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) accreditation by the DQS Certification Phils., Inc., Makati City, Metro Manila and with Main Office at Germany.

In a closing meeting on April 14, 2023, attended by ASC officials, personnel, students, and other stakeholders, the DQS Audit Team headed by Ms. Jenny M. Barachina, Team Leader and Ms. Catherine T. Sigua, Co-Auditor congratulated ASC on the effective implementation of its Quality Management Systems conforming to ISO 9001:2015 and applies to all the departments and units of the campuses of Apayao State College.

The ISO 9001:2015 is a global standard set by the International Organization for Standardization that specifies the requirements for a strong QMS; outlining the processes, procedures, and programs that organizations must develop, implement, maintain, and improve to successfully manage production or service delivery. 

Dr. John N. Cabansag, ASC President said the College successfully met the specifications required by the ISO 2001:2015.

The required ISO conditions included the streamlining of operations through digitalization and organization reengineering, simplification of service delivery, quality instruction, research, extension, resource generation and management, human resource training, and student services standards, among others. Cabansag congratulated all personnel, students and stakeholders of ASC involved in the implementation of the ISO QMS standard, calling the awarding a “proof of the constant efforts to ensure that the programs and services are at par with the global management standards”.

Ms. Jemmarie Kotoken, VP for Administration and Finance Services, said with the adaptation of the ISO QMS standard, the functions and operations of the College will institutionalize the ease of doing business mandate and ensure “better delivery of services and products to the ASCians and yApayaos.”

The Apayao State College will continue to press forward in its vision to be an innovation-driven higher education institution in the Asia Pacific region pursuing excellence in instruction, biodiversity conservation and protection, pioneering research, and community empowerment. (JNC)
