In a landmark event on March 4, 2024, the Apayao State College hosted its 3rd Curriculum Review for its Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program, setting a transformative engineering education. The review session aimed to enhance the program’s alignment with industry needs and foster academic excellence.
Distinguished resource speakers, representing the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), prominent figures from the construction industry, faculty members from other esteemed academic institutions, and a successful alumnus of the college, were invited to provide invaluable insights. The speakers were Engr. Chester Songgadan, Engr. Hilario Baguec, Engr, Rhonjhon Garming, Engr, Reymond Agcaoili, Engr. Riza Dela Cruz, Engr. Reymond Salagan, and Engr. Emerald Agcon.
The collaborative effort sought to address the dynamic demands of the civil engineering field by incorporating real-world perspectives and ensuring graduates are well-equipped with the skills necessary for success in the professional arena.
Engr. Brent C. Begay, the BSCE Chairman remarked, “These concerted efforts reflect our commitment to excellence and innovation in education to ensure that our curriculum remains dynamic, relevant, and aligned with the ever-evolving landscape of civil engineering.”
The College ensures approval of the output by the Board of Trustees and the Commission on Higher Education before its implementation in the ensuing academic year.
