Employees across local government units and national line agencies in the province of Apayao attended the month-long celebration of the Civil Service Commission on its 124th anniversary on September 2 held at Luna, Apayao.
Apayao State College, composed of some teaching and non-teaching personnel, participated in the motorcade at around 7AM and proceeded to the BGVJr. Memorial Sports Center where the opening program took place.
Underscoring the theme, “Transforming Public Services in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes,” former Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao, served as the guest speaker through a video message.
“We must equip ourselves with the skills, knowledge, and adaptability needed to face upcoming challenges,” he remarked.
Likewise, Hon. Kyle Mariah Chelsea Bulut-Cunan, Board Member, 1st District, expressed the “challenges that the public servants face,” emphasizing the significance of supporting each other.
“Let us remember the true essence of public service lies in our commitment to serve the people with integrity, transparency, and accountability,” she said.
Hon. Remy N. Albano, Vice Governor, acknowledged everyone’s participation, including government officials and department heads of each cluster and as a whole.
ASC employees stepped up in engaging activities in which they showcased their talents. One of the highlights of the opening was the introduction of clusters taers and muses, combined with the question-and-answer portion. Ms. Joyce M. Batugal from ASC-Conner Campus was hailed as the second runner-up, bringing home the best in sports attire and production number awards.
This year’s theme reflects the collective experience of the government workforce in the new normal, pushing for digital transformation and innovations to uphold public service excellence and continuity.
