The first week of August marked the successful Management Committee meeting on August 6, presided over by College President Dr. John N. Cabansag. This was attended by the two vice presidents, campus academic deans, program chairpersons, directors, and unit heads.
Dr. Cabansag opened the meeting by sharing the actions and recommendations of the governing board from the 26th BOT Regular Meeting held on July 30 in Baguio City. He commended the notable achievements of students, faculty, and support staff, and encouraged everyone to seize opportunities that bring honor to the College and the Province. He also emphasized the importance of work attitude and values enhancement.
The readiness of the College for the opening of the 2024-2025 academic year, with classes starting on August 19, was a key topic of discussion. The meeting also covered other activities scheduled in alignment with the academic calendar.
Other key agenda items included such as the status of physical targets in terms of accreditation and initiatives to improve student services under the Higher Education program were reviewed. Strategies to enhance the competencies of graduates, particularly those in board courses, were emphasized.
On financial matters, the finance and accounting units provided updates that focused on optimizing resources to support the College’s key initiatives.
The Infrastructure & Development Unit reported on the progress of ongoing projects at Conner Campus and Luna Campus, as well as the status of infrastructure projects at extension sites.
CHED scholarships granted to faculty members and the recent approval of the Merit Selection Plan by the Board of Trustees were also presented by the Human Resource Management Office with emphasis on the faculty development program.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Registrar reported on ongoing enrollment, projecting a 20% increase in student population, with detailed per-program enrollment figures.
The meeting concluded with announcements of upcoming major collegewide events aimed at ensuring maximum participation from both campuses and stakeholders.
